Making It Real is all about Raising Early Achievement in Literacy.  We were thrilled to give this a try & excited to see the results & difference we could make in our children's Literacy skills. 

Making It Real is an award winning programme that works with practitioners to support children's Early Literacy (pre-reading & writing) & parental confidence to support  children's development at home. 

Our Making It Real is led by Auntie Sarah & Auntie Sam.  They worked with each child individually to assess their achievements in Literacy. 

This then formed the base of which children & their family we would work with. 

Since we signed up to the scheme, we have had the best time with the children & the families. We welcomed them into Nursery to read, make crafts, tell stories & mark make in a variety of ways. 

Our families have been so welcoming & have embraced the learning their children have experienced in the home with Auntie Sarah & Auntie Sam.  

We had a super time at our Mark Making Party at Nursery.  We made marks in many ways, using different tools.  We wrote upside down under tables, painting with cotton wool balls & more!

We loved the Print Walk with our families & Aunties.  We explored the town, looking for different symbols, prints & logos & crossing them off our sheets. 

We are so proud of our target children who joined in this Literacy journey with us.  Each of them made progress with this targeted learning & we cannot wait to start this again with some new families in September 2026.
